Director SERI DEYOUNG

Seri DeYoung is a New Mexico and LA-based actress and filmmaker. You’ve seen her on Good Trouble, S.W.A.T, Breaking Bad, and more. Her extensive on-set experience and her love of actors has served her well as a director; her award-winning films have screened at festivals in the US and abroad. Seri writes and directs films that cover everything from coming-of-age, complex family dynamics, and the consequences of extreme beliefs. Her visual style is bold, visceral, and strongly anchored in story.

Her female-led baseball short Throw Like A Girl finished an inspiring festival run with nominations for Best Directing and an Audience Award from Austin Revolutions Film Festival, and her short film about a family in crisis, Distance, had its world premiere at Dances With Films and went on to screen at Lady Filmmakers and the Burbank International Film Festival. Her raw and impactful feature-length documentary Tender Points, A Fibromyalgia Journey was picked up by Virgil Films Entertainment and released on major streaming platforms.

Seri’s newest short film, Unfaithful!, (WINNER Best Comedy Short, Santa Fe Film Festival) is an early 2000’s neo-western about a self-righteous reality TV host who has some personal problems one day at work. Unfaithful! was an official selection at Dances with Films and the Burbank International Film Festival.

Seri currently directs commercials for Sandia Resort and Casino, you’ve likely seen her fun and creative spots on your TV this year.
